beauty hack caused quite the stir in the beauty world not long time ago. The
“life” of the NIVEA MEN Sensitive Post
Shave Balm took a 360 turn when one day, while it was quietly chilling on a
store shelf, Nikkietutorials picked
it up and used it as, lo and behold, a makeup primer. Ever since, bloggers,
vloggers and consumers alike from all the over the world have tried it. And if
you haven’t heard yet, we Filipinos can finally get our hands to the much
talked about makeup primer as the Post Shave Balm is now available in Watsons and Lazada.
a funny story, my sister received this package since I was not home that time and
she immediately texted me:
- Sister: Kim, Nivea Men thought you are a
- Me: I was expecting that package.
- Sister: Yeah right. “Kim” is a guy’s name,
- Me: Wait and see!
normal reaction, you see, the cynical side of me instantly raised an eyebrow when
I first heard of this trend and asked the laptop screen what the catch is. Is
it a marketing stunt? A well-orchestrated joke or perhaps am I going to grow a
beard? So far, neither is the case.
The main thing is that NIVEA MEN Sensitive Post Shave Balm has Glycerin in its ingredients, which is
usually found in conventional makeup primers that acts as the “glue” to bind makeup.
that simple. Does it work though? The consistency of the product is watery,

I was expecting a balm-like texture due to its name. And hey, it’s my first
time using a post-shave anything!
application, the white color sinks into the skin to become clear instead of
sitting on the surface (some primers do that!) It feels like a moisturizer,
light and smooth but with a very very verrry manly scent. No exaggeration! But since it does make for a good
prep for makeup, I don’t mind breathing through my mouth for a about minute
until the scent is no longer overwhelming.
use this before foundation all over the face whenever I know the day is going
to be long, and when I need my makeup to stay as on fleek as possible – 3 blogging
events in the day for example. And I’m particularly impressed with the way it
worked on my t-zone. Not much
difference is seen on my pores (again, some primers take care of this issue)
but the longevity of makeup has certainly improved and the unwanted shine is
kept at bay. That’s the power of Glycerin, baby!
only PhP550 for 100ml, I will repurchase this as long as it doesn’t break me
out. It hasn’t yet – thanks to its Chamomile and Witch Hazel components. Yay! So what do you think of this new addition to the NIVEA
Philippines line? Would it be something that you would want to try out, girl friends?
